Portugal: The comics and illustrated books

Exhibition from February 27 to March 20:
"Strapazin: das Magazin Comic" Swiss magazine, is undoubtedly one of the best magazines and comics which is published in Europe. Each issue is developed from a concept, a challenge, in issue 87, published in June 2007, ATAK was published, author well-known German producer cultural Matthias Schneider. Together, they have invited ten illustrators of picture books to produce their first comic, giving each two keywords as a starting point.
More than just a creative exercise, it is a way to see if there are differences between the illustration of a cartoon and text. ATAK Schneider and seek to exploit the uniqueness of the image, wondering about the intersection of language and aesthetic influence of comics in the world of illustrated books, think about new concepts and narration about the impact this has on the universe comics. Each illustrator has been asked to describe how she sees this challenge, how do you see the picture book and what developers who influenced them.

Also provided the texts of each illustrator that allows visitors not only a contextual reading of images, but also reveals some secrets of these breeders. The inauguration will take place on February 27, 16h in the presence of Commissioners. At 17h there is a guided tour by Matthias Schneider. One day before (26th) at the School of Lisbon will Ar.Co a conversation with the ATAK at 14h (access: 3 €).

The Comic Book and Illustrated Album
In Orlando Public Library Brook February 27 to March 20

"Strapazin: the Comic Magazine," Swiss magazine, is undoubtedly one of the best magazines and on comics that are published in Europe. Each issue is developed from a concept of a challenge that, at 87, published in June 2007, was released to ATAK, the influential German author, producer and cultural Matthias Schneider.
